Damien Broderick: Australian Writer
Damien Francis Broderick is a famous science fiction author who was born on April 22, 1944 in Australia. He is known for his outstanding works which were given due recognition their great contribution to the genre of science fiction.
Broderick works at the University of Melbourne in Australia as a Senior Fellow in the School of Culture and Communication. He also owns a Ph.D in Literary Studies at Deakin University, Australia.
During his writing career, Broderick created several novels which gained recognition. Some of these works are ‘The Dreaming Dragons,’ ‘The Judas Mandala.’ which was credited for its virtual reality, ‘The Spike,’ ‘The Dark between the Stars,’ ‘The Sea's Furthest End,’ ‘The Book of Revelation,’ ‘A Man Returned,’ and ‘The Last Mortal Generation.’ Other famous works of his are ‘Godplayers,’ ‘A Comedy of Bad Manners,’ and ‘The Year Million’ which were all favourably reviewed by his avid readers and critics.
Damien Broderick also writes radio plays which he adapts from his own original stories and works. One of these is ‘Schrödinger's Dog,’ which was chosen for Gardner Dozois' Year's Best Science Fiction collection of the year. He also created children’s books such as ‘Jack and the Skyhook’ and the famous ‘Jack and the Aliens.’
Damien Broderick is married to Barbara Lamar, a tax attorney. Together with his wife, he wrote the suspense thriller ‘Post Mortal Syndrome,’ which was serialised by ‘Cosmos’ magazine, a famous Australian science magazine where he himself is the science fiction editor-in-charge.
